Brookline First Light! AWA fundraiser for Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh
I’m excited to see these unique artist designed jars coming back to the studio! Bidding starts at $100 for each jar and all proceeds will go to Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh. Please come see them in person this Thursday November 29th during Brookline First Light! Hours 6-9. The jars will be on display in our front window at 45 Harvard Street through December 6th. Our aim is to raise funds to help the Jewish community that was affected by the terrorism in Pittsburgh and to raise awareness of the effects of hate speech. If you'd like to make a donation outright please let me know. We will be taking donations on the night of the event. And the public is invited to create their own paper bag luminaries during First Light!
Words Matter
This year as part of Brookline First Light on November 29th AWA will be offering "Words Matter" - a community art event in response to the tragedy at Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh. Join us to make luminaries with messages of peace and hope in this challenging time.
Hours 6-8. Free for all ages. Eleven jars will be for sale on November 29th to support The Tree of Life synagogue.
Donations of jars & lights welcome
We'll also be exhibiting and running this same open art event on the evening of December 6th at Post-Cubicle Gallery in Kenmore Square.
Thank you to the Jewish Arts Collaborative and Post-Cubicle Gallery for support! Shout out to Shana and Gillian for jars and lights! Special thanks also to Lisa Link who has collaborated with us to make this event happen!
