Summer Fun 2021

Summer 2021 is almost here! This summer continues to be a little different and packed with lots of art fun. The plan is to meet in the park near my studio. There is a possibility I will be opening the studio at some point so keeping park groups on the smaller side with a limit of six children per group.

Expect sketchbooking, tie dye, painting, building of all sorts and general summer fun!

There may be a morning class added. Stay tuned. Keeping groups small this year. There may be daily spots open on some weeks. Please be in touch.

Wear a mask, bring a snack and off we go!

Weaving on looms returns for Summer 2021! AWA is partnering with SAORI WORCESTER and renting looms that come with weaving classes on Zoom for July and August. Please email for more info.

AWA Update

Hello all!

Inching a little closer to some kind of normal! Hope you are all doing well in your caves. I'm still Zooming and expect pretty soon to make the transfer to park classes. Classes meet 3-5 for now. My second vaccine is the first week of April!!

Wow! We've made it to February break! I've been told my Zoom classes break the fourth wall. Kids who normally don't like Zoom thrive here. We have some adult and teen offerings too. I've set my programming up so you can dip in and out of classes throughout the day. Registration is required though :). Please stop in for some creative fun!

All hour long workshops are $30. Sets of four workshops or more are $25 for each workshop. Lunch/ art movie hour is $20. 2-4 Art with Amy is $50. We have art supply boxes available for all classes. Prices of boxes vary according to class projects $15-$35.

New half day art/ Warrior Cats class forming/ MLK day art

Well 2021 is off with a bang!

We are forming a Warrior Cats art class. Think drawing, animation and fan fiction. Grades 4-8

New Brookline School half days art classes 1-3 on these days:
January 22nd, January 25th, Feb.5th, Feb 22nd, March 12th, March 29th, April 12th, April 30th, May 10th , 21st, June 7th and 11th

MLK Day art class 9-11
Expect a morning of all sorts of art inspiration.

We have spaces in after school classes meeting 3-5 daily. On Wednesdays we have early classes meeting when school lets out.

Organizing a Comics/Storytelling class Tuesdays after school. This is for grades four and up.

We have room in all classes M-F 3-5 and in our Wednesday 12:30-2 for younger set and 1-3 mixed ages. Lots of all art fun. Classes come with an AWA art studio in a box.

December break art/ Winter session registration/ GoFundMe

Hello all!

Although we have no formal classes set up for the December break I am available for private Zoom classes and groups. We have one group forming now. Please feel free to reach out! Zoom classes feel surprisngly similar to the real studio experience - with all sorts of fun, art making and a healthy smattering of art history ( here's a fun watch the kids liked yesterday :) ).

Winter class registration has begun! These classes will be Jan-March and most likely all on Zoom. Classes meet each afternoon 3-5 with an extra class starting earlier on Wednesdays. Sign on for the days you like.

Heading into 2021! Let's get together and make art! I'll be offering fun, interesting and creative art classes M-F 3-5 and Wednesdays we have an extra class 1-3. Brookline school half days are here!
We have two half day classes coming up. December 3rd
( TODAY :) ) and December 8th.
It's a warm day today! Meeting at the park 1-3 and 3-5. $55 per class. Email for details and to join on.

Wednesday 12:30-2 Zoom class
Milo's class is restarting next week. Class meets on Zoom Wednesdays 12:30-2. Kids have been painting, building, drawing and having lots of art fun with Milo.
This class has been for grades K-4 and comes with an art supply box.

Classes meet 4x over the month beginning the week of Aug10. All classes come with an art box of AWA supplies!

MONDAYS @ 9am: ORIGAMI, SCULPEY, and SKETCH!
Rachel will lead our group in fun origami, sculpey and sketching classes. Comes with origami paper, sculpey and sketching materials. Two spaces available.

THURSDAYS @ 9 am: CREATE
Mixed media canvas art and diorama. In this class students will make mixed media creations of their own using paint, magazines, beads, words and more. Comes with canvas, paint and mixed media materials. Box may be used for diorama.

FRIDAY @ 9am: MIXIN’ IT UP! A class for all who love concoctions! SLIME, POTIONS & OOBLECK!
In this class students will create all sorts of concoctions, slime and science experiments with Milo! Comes with a project box for all you need to Mix it Up!

In this class students will draw, print and plant.
Learn about different kinds of plants as we print leaves, press flowers, grow and document our own plantings and more. We are hand delivering art boxes this week containing terrarium supplies, planting and painting supplies and notebooks.

AWA Art boxes delivered contact free!

We have a mixed media box including sculpey , terrarium, light up lanterns and tie dye! More to come :). I’ve been walking all over Brookline delivering and even made an excursion to Needham this week. We also created boxes for a birthday party- a super idea! Boxes are $25 including delivery except for light up lantern which includes water colors and an LED light- that one is $30. Here are our succulents waiting for their homes :).

Miniatures Create tiny worlds! In this class students will create tiny environments, people, places and things. We will make dioramas and have a virtual tour of some tiny houses.

The week ahead Week of June 22nd

Hello all!

We start the summer off this coming week with "Storytelling". M-F 1-4.

Students will have the opportunity to develop characters and a story line. Expect fun theater exercises, short animated movies and studying characters throughout comics history. $300 for the full week or $70 per day. (By the way, if you'd like to do this class but feel these are too many hours please reach out and we'll find a solution that works for your child.) Taught by Milo on Zoom!

Tuesdays evenings at 4:30 We have a journaling class for adults and teens. Meeting 40 minutes on Zoom taught by Rachel Bird. $100 for 4 classes.
