Wearable art and sewing week!

8:30-2:00
Paint tote bags and design t-shirts, including learning the art of batik (painting with wax and dyes pictured below ). Make a stuffed animal, and learn embroidery.
As usual, there will also be tie dye, drawing, sketchbooking, and canvas painting. 
Mixed ages welcome!

2:00-6:00

Afternoons have been 12 year olds and teens with a mix of art including batik, painting and all sorts of constructions. It's been a peaceful and fun time.

Summer Art Update!

Week of June 23rd ( this week! )  
We have one space open for 8:30-2:00 and four spaces for 2:00-6:00.

We just added a painting and drawing class taught by Jen. Hours 10-2. All levels of experience welcome. ( no class on July 4th) 

Week of July 7th
Mihoko will be in the studio with weaving and fiber arts! Four spaces open. Weave, spin, felt and sew. Hours 9-2

Lots of great programming this summer including a full week of weaving on looms and fiber arts with Saori Weaving, Nature Week, Wearable Art Week, Building and all of the usual AWA fun stuff!

During the week of Mihoko’s weaving class floor sized looms fill the studio, so we will be closed during the afternoons.

We believe in the magic and power of creativity, and like to meet students where they’re at. While we offer many different projects each week, there are never any requirements. This is a real studio for artists to explore! Summer programs are mixed age in small groups.
Each day is broken into two sections with similar programming for each section. Sign on for one or both sections each week! Daily sign ons are also available.

We are pleased to announce Mihoko Wakabayashi will return to the Art with Amy studio with her floor sized looms! Enjoy a full week of weaving, spinning, felting and sewing (by hand and machine!). Each summer we've seen our students make lasting memories AND scarves, vests, dresses, and stuffed animals. Teens welcome. Intergenerational!

Saori weaving and Art with Amy share a "there are no mistakes!" philosophy and truly all leave happy :).

April vacation is almost here!
April 16th - 19th Tuesday-Friday 

AWA will be up and running 9-2 daily with sign ons by the week or day. All classes are mixed age.

Expect lots of creative explorations including clay, painting, drawing, building and some sewing. We love sketchbooks, so as always, sketchbooks for all!

Tuition $440 for four days and $120 per day.

Additionally, students will delve into a collaborative writers' room, where they collectively shape narratives and characters, unleashing their creativity.

February Break Workshops And Class! Summer On My Mind :)

This year for February break we are trying something new. We will be offering a variety of workshops as well as some classic Art with Amy studio time. Sign on for as much as you'd like! Friday is not on the schedule yet. This may change.

For clay classes Kim is open to working with your child outside of the designed project. For Yolanda's stained glass project students will be cutting glass so this is for 4th graders and up.

Most classes can be intergenerational so if you'd like to sign on for a workshop with your child you are welcome!

Hello all! 

We hope you'll join us for our new seven week fiber arts class at Art with Amy in Brookline Village! Class starts Monday, January 22nd.

This is  an Intergenerational class- middle schoolers, teens and adults! Meeting Mondays 3-6 starting in January. Seven spaces open as of today.


Dahlia Popovits, master weaver and designer, will be in the studio offering a variety of fiber techniques including weaving on a rigid heddle loom, spinning, crochet, embroidery, pattern making, and hand sewing. Each one of these textile techniques will build on one another and will culminate with a uniquely and professionally finished handwoven, embellished, stitched and assembled project.
