Dropping Masks in Studio (Covid) and ...my solo art exhibit in Gloucester! (also some summer info)

Hi all,

With Covid numbers down I will be dropping the mask mandate in the studio next week. I am hoping things improve even more and that this isn't just a lull. I'll continue to watch the numbers and read updates and if need be will reinstitute. I'll still keep my mask on since I am in contact with so many each week and I am older than most that are making art here .

I'm almost finished planning the complete summer schedule. I should have everything all set for the month of August next week. I am taking sign ons if you'd like August weeks. We have teen art, weaving on looms, all sorts of painting and drawing and tie dye! To see the schedule look here:

I hope you'll be able to stop in and see my solo exhibit at Jane Deering Gallery in Gloucester! If you've never been to Gloucester, it's a beautiful, quaint seaside town with shops, galleries and cafes all about an hour from Brookline. I'll be in the gallery this Friday morning 10-12 and Saturday and Sunday 1-5. I am happy to give you a private tour of my drawings and paintings!

Jane’s gallery is a true light filled gem: an ideal venue to be showing my new framed works on paper and wood pieces. I’ll also have my larger and smaller portfolios of works on paper available.

Gloucester is a beautiful New England ocean town about an hour from Boston by car or an easy commute from Boston’s purple line. The feel here is special- lots of small shops, galleries, Cape Ann museum ( right next door to the gallery )and cafes.

We've added more Summer options to our schedule. Mihoko will be in the studio with floor sized looms and fiber arts, Michelle will be teaching preteen/teen art, Shelby is back sewing, painting and drawing. Lots more coming soon! Check out Art with Amy for summer schedule in progress.

Our art studio is a unique experience. Children have the opportunity to make their own creative decisions, EXPLORE and learn hands on art history all in a safe and nurturing environment. We think of our space as a true art studio for kids! Hope to see you soon!

We have space in our Wednesday class meeting directly after school until 6. This year we have a grouping third and fourth graders on this day. Pick up available at Pierce and FRR. We paint! We draw! We sculpt!

Art auction to benefit survivors of earthquake in Turkey and Syria

Hello all!

I have a tiny 6"x 9" ink and pencil painting on paper entitled "Float" in an online auction to benefit the earthquake victims of Turkey and Syria. Bidding begins February 20th and runs through Feb 25th. All art in this auction is priced to sell. The bidding for my painting begins at $75.

Float is part of my morning sketchbook work I have been doing at my desk at home. Looking forward to showing more of these pieces at the Jane Deerlng Gallery in Gloucester this spring.

February vacation art class update


Art with Amy has three spaces open in our Friday class during February break. Alex Vaillancourt will be teaching 8:30-1:30. We are mixed ages and this time around grades 3-6. I'm organizing a teen/preteen class for Thursday 2-5. Lots of painting, drawing, building and studio explorations all week long! We are right in Brookline Village in the corner storefront on Harvard/Linden with cool art in the window and no sign .

Art Class News

We have three spaces in the Wednesday class. Pick up available at both Pierce and FRR on this day. This class is best for an art loving child in grades 3-5.

Planning Feb break. We have 8:30-1:30 Tuesday-Friday with Alex and will likely add the afternoons. Reach out to sign on.

I have the skeleton Summer art schedule ready for sign ons. More weeks to come. Those last weeks in August fill fast so good to sign on early. We try to keep all weeks mixed age and have limited spots for each age group.

We are excited to have Alex Vaillancourt in the studio Tuesday-Friday of December break!

Hours 8:30-1.

Dates: December 27, 28,29 and 30.

Expect a ton of art fun including painting, drawing and building of all sorts. This one is for grades second through fifth.

Open Studios November 19th and 20th

Come by and. check out my framed and unframed drawings and paintings at 45 Harvard in Brookline Village! Saturday evening and Sunday afternoon. I’ll be sharing Open Studio with my neighbor and weaver Jean M Svizzero as well as clay artist Sarah Fuhro. Both will be displaying their work around the corner on Linden Street at Bodily Kneeds. Think wall hangings, bags and dresses <3

Intergenerational Bookbinding/Cyanotype workshop

Shelby Feltoon will be teaching this one Saturday, December 3rd 10-2. It's a combination cyanotype ( for the cover)/bookbinding class. This is for adults, teens and preteens. The tuition is $100. Check out Shelby’s beautiful work below!

Art Tonight in Provincetown! Some art class news too!

Hi all!

If you are in the Provincetown area tonight I have framed paintings on paper at AMP in Provincetown. This one is a bittersweet event as it’s the closing event for AMP . I am honored to have been part of Deb’s beautiful creative vision!
