Summer Fun starts the week of June 27th! We are offering both 8:30-1 and 2-6 classes. Daily sign ons throughout the summer depending on space. **NEW** This week we will be offering a drawing class for the 1-2 hour. Stay late or arrive early! Do you want to sign on for just drawing? We can do that!

For the weeks of June 27th and July 4th we kick off our mornings with Shelby  in the studio teaching printmaking, painting, drawing and general studio art fun. The mornings of July 4th will be a hands on art history class with students learning about artists throughout history through painting, sewing, sculpting and building.

I'll be in the studio 2-6 both weeks with lots of classic Art with Amy studio- sculpey creations, canvas work, sketchbooking and the unexpected :).

We are excited to have local comics artist and painter Clay Mears in the studio all week teaching drawing and story development. Explore comics throughout history looking at graphic novels by Lynda Barry and Art Spiegelman as well as classic comics such as Spiderman and Batman. Expect to leave class with a comic of your own!

Drawing Beyond Boundaries 2-6 We're thinking of this as an intergenerational class. All ages welcome.

Explore all sorts of drawing techniques, working large and small while keeping a sketchbook. Students will work in a variety of materials (inks, pencil, charcoal) working both small and large scale, keeping sketchbooks and learning drawing techniques with an emphasis on creativity and joy. For inspiration we’ll examine a wide variety of artists throughout history such as Henri Matisse, Käthe Kollwitz and Jasper Johns. This class will be taught by working NYC-based artist Nancy Nicholson.

Week of Aug 15th- Aug 20th

Monday through Friday 9-2

Weaving on looms and fiber arts with Mihoko … This week there is no afternoon option. Our looms will be filling the studio! Please join on for some fiber fun! THREE SPACES OPEN

Mihoko is back in our Brookline Village studio this summer for a full week of fiber arts! Weave on large floor sized looms, learn wet felting, needle felting, spinning and dyeing!

I’ve been working on putting together a dynamic program for your children! We have comics class, weaving on looms with fiber arts and we have a special drawing class. All back in person in our light filled newly air conditioned studio! We have the 8:30-1 day and 2-6 day, with a 1 -2 pm option available to stay late or arrive early.

The week of August 15th 9-2 daily! Mihoko is back in our Brookline Village studio for a full week of fiber arts! Weave on large floor sized looms, learn wet felting, needle felting, spinning and dyeing! **The Saori method of weaving- like the AWA method of art is one of no mistakes. When I say everyone leaves with amazing art I am very serious.

Highlighting our SUMMER week of July 25th!

Join us for a week of Nature and Art this summer! Super happy to have local artist Casey Cataldo in the studio 8:30-1 for a week of nature and art. Students will draw from nature, learn how to dry flowers, gather sticks and forage to create sculptures, create pigments with natural elements. In addition we will be learning about artists who work with and in nature. Expect lots of sketchbooking, collage, drawing, printing and painting. February vacation classes

February vacation art class news!
Alex Vaillancourt will be in the studio Tuesday-Friday 8:30-1:30 with all sorts of painting, building and drawing projects. Ages 6-8 for this one. 

Clay will be teaching Drawing for Middle SchoolersTuesday-Friday 2-5. Learn techniques and explore materials.

ALSO in the studio!
Drawing class Wednesday evenings 6:30-8:00
Clay will be back for more drawing techniques classes. This is a four week class. Learn full-body proportions, action poses, face/features with a focus on expression and value/rendering. Adults and middle schoolers and up welcome. We just ran a class with just this mix and it was wonderful with a couple of parent/child in the mix.

Good morning! Art with Amy is on Zoom this week M-F 3-5. Much like our art studio in Brookline Village our Zooms are creative hang outs with art making, watching interesting art related videos including interviews with artists, discussions of the unexpected and general fun. Make Art not War

I've been working on putting together a series of workshops. Yes, I am still working on it but thought I'd let you in at this stage of planning. One- if you want to see something different offered please let me know Two- if you want to join on to what I am planning please let me know.

Here's what we have so far. We start as soon as we have four students ready to go!

Tuesday evenings 6:15-7:45: Eyes, feet, hands and heads!
Learn drawing techniques. Adults and children 11 and up welcome. We have a parent/child set signed on so far. Taught by Clay

Wednesday evenings 6:15-7:45:  Resin/ candlemaking workshop. This will be a four class set. Taught by Oli

Experimenting with one Thursday evening in December having a Makerspace for adults. Explore and create! With Alex Vaillancourt.

Make gel print cards!  Date to be determined 6:15-7:45. Learn how to make gel prints and create a set of cards. Taught by Martha Friedman.
